I read your intro in “AD” and remember distinctly the exact time you entered this world. Carter and Ford had a debate that day and I watched it as a kid. I remember that year because I remember Bob Wood missing a field goal against Purdue that cost Michigan the game a few weeks after you were born (and the national championship). I can still hear Bob Ufer saying…. “It’s no good, it’s no good, it’s no good…..”

Man, I feel old. 1976 wasn’t that long ago. Star Wars came out that year. Jaws was the year before. Close Encounters the year after. Carter was elected that year and I remember it like it was the day before yesterday.

Perhaps when you are 43, you’ll will understand the pathology of some of the people (like me) who subscribe to AD.

When you get there, the confusion you illustrated in your “AD intro” will only get worse. I guar-an-tee (in my best Justin Wilson impression).
