Are some people more susceptible to mosquito bites than others?

In the 10 short minutes I sat on our backsteps this evening and watched Mike pick tomatoes, I was bitten 8 times by those flying vampire bitches. I just sat there and did nothing but try to keep mosquitoes at bay. With my resulting ratio of a bite nearly every minute, I either miserably failed or succeeded in fending off what could have been a malarial calamity. Meanwhile, Mike comes out unscathed. Dammit.
