Today is the day we in the US memorialize the birth of this nation. We used to call it Independence Day but independence died sometime between the McKinley and FDR presidencies. So enjoy your security even if you don’t have freedom. Lament on the fact that once upon a time there were men of influence who were willing to risk their lives, fortunes, and sacred honors for those odd notions of freedom and independence.
