Blow

If you own or have ever employed the used a leaf blower you should be taken out and flogged publicly. Or, at the very least, forced to sit through hours of audio recordings of your damned machine. There is nothing a leaf blower can do that a hose or broom can’t.

I’ll spare you my sentiments on the connection between lizard brain-driven males and their apparent need to use leaf blowers. C’mon, you gotta admit, women don’t have this issue. ;)

Now Jaime, I have to take umbrage at your general dislike to leaf blowers. I totally understand if somebody tries to clean the world with one……….but c’mon! My Poulan blower/vac turns an hour of work into about ten minutes!
And for what it’s worth, my wife has decided that mowing the lawn is kind of fun! Yippee!!!!

You’ll have to forgive my skepticism, DTOM. But I’m going to have to see some sort of demonstration to believe it. I don’t see how a person can’t move leaves or clippings off a sidewalk with noisy, powered air in less time than a small-nozzled hose or large broom.

And for what it’s worth, I’ve done lots of yard work but have never had to cut the lawn. I’m a master weasel when it comes to that task. :P

I hate those things! So much noise pollution . . .

I say, use a rake and get a good workout in the process.

The Brits have started a trend called Green Gyms where you get a workout by doing environmental projects or gardening http://www2.btcv.org.uk/display/greengym_how mixed with a warm up and cool down. I think raking would qualify since you’d be reducing noise and air pollution (unless the blower is solar powered . . .)
