Love Speech

My cousin is getting married in early October. He has asked me to do a reading at the wedding and has left it open as to what it is I read. He says he could pick something but I know he’s got a lot of other stresses in preparing for his big day, which is why he threw the ball in my court. I would really like to pick something nice but I am one of the least romantic chics you’ll ever meet. I really don’t want to be reading the lyrics to love songs, so I appeal to the greater genius of you beachcombers. If you have any suggestions please post them! In the meantime, I will be breaking out my American Anthology of Poetry that I ‘liberated’ from a box of books back in high school. C’mon folks & help a sister out.

    How about some Kahlil Gibran?

Hmm, maybe I’ll write somethin myself. Lol.

We had a reading from “The Prophet” by Kahlil Gibran at our wedding — it was really beautiful, about being together, yet seperate. It fit us perfectly, but probably wouldn’t work for a couple that’s co-dependent or similar. I just looked at cyan’s link and our reading was from part of that.

Thanks for the ideas, er idea, ladies. :D

One problem with being so far away is that I’m not as close to them as I c/should be. I guess I could always run it through the family gossip mill first.

Titus, I’m waiting for a follow up reply…

  5. Titus says:

    Lol…Jamie! Don’t rush me! ; )

“true love is the souls recognition of its counterpoint in another.”

just leave it at that and you’re golden.
