Some leftover thoughts and notes…

Does anyone know anyone who has EVER saved a bunch, or even any, money by switching to Geico?

Mike once called Geico to get a quote. Their quote came in almost 3x higher than the company we ended up chosing. When he inquired of the Geico customer no service rep as to why they were so expensive, s/he had the nerve to tell him it was because they ‘have a nice website.’ For real. Guess they are not trained to say that the management overspends on advertising at the expense of their existing customers.

Also is anyone else offended by the Geico radio spot that is set up to sound like an ad for a big upcoming movie and has very bad voice actors as pseudo asian people? The accents are so bad they are not discernable to any particular native language. They should be embarrassed. And all that just to tell us “I jus save alotta money on caw insuwence bah swizzing to Geiiiiico.” Me love Geico long time.

This is being carried by Drudge; I can’t verify it’s veracity but if true….

While talking with audience participants, the president met Mary Mornin, a woman in her late fifties who told the president she was a divorced mother of three, including a ‘mentally challenged’ son.

The President comforted Mornin on the security of social security stating that ‘the promises made will be kept by the government.’

But without prompting Mornin began to elaborate on her life circumstances.

Begin transcript:

MS. MORNIN: That’s good, because I work three jobs and I feel like I contribute.

THE PRESIDENT: You work three jobs?

MS. MORNIN: Three jobs, yes.

THE PRESIDENT: Uniquely American, isn’t it? I mean, that is fantastic that you’re doing that. (Applause.) Get any sleep? (Laughter.)

Fantastic?!? Could he be anymore of an out-of-touch, silver spoon sucking snob? Let her eat cake why don’t you!

You’re a politician
So there’s only one conclusion
